Felted Artifacts

Textiles students finished up their felted artifact today. Visiting artist-in-residence LeBrie Rich worked with the students for 2 weeks and then they spent a 3rd week finishing up their felted artifacts. Felting is the oldest known textile art. Students learned how the Mongolians and Iranians felted during ancient times. They also looked at images of the oldest known felt artifacts from the Pazryk tomb. The assignment was then to design an artifact from their life now. What will the future generations learn from the objects that are part of your daily lives?IMG_6003
